Employability of the New Generation of Students

Do you sometimes wonder about the new generation of students and how they can “fit” or contribute to your organization? Research indicates that there are various factors that somewhat predict the success of an induvial in their first “career” job after completing their education. Those factors range from soft skills (communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and adaptability) to technical skills, job specific skills, education, and part-time/internship experience. Research also indicates that many of the new students entering the workforce have an entrepreneurial mindset and expect to be successful based on their ability to establish a professional network and navigate social situations. Please join us as we explore the employability of the new generation of students and how we, as employers, may need to change our approach…and expectations…in our hiring process.
