Feruzan Williams

Feruzan Irani Williams is a Professor of Practice in Management at the Rawls College of Business, Texas Tech University. She currently serves as the Director of the Scovell Business Leadership Program and the Masters in Human Resource Management Program. Prior to her time at Texas Tech, Feruzan has chaired the department of management at North Carolina A&T State University and was a tenured associate professor at Georgia Southern University.  She teaches and researches in the areas of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management. Her major areas of research interest include emotional labor, stress, and leadership, with a special emphasis on the challenges faced by women in the workplace. She has published her research in eminent peer reviewed journals.   Feruzan is passionate about working with, and mentoring, students. She has previously served as the faculty advisor to Tech SHRM and Tech Women in Business, both of which are student organizations housed in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech.  Feruzan holds a Ph.D. in Management and an M.S. in Human Resource Management from Auburn University, an MBA from the University of West Georgia, and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting and Management) from the University of Mumbai, India. 

Effective Employee Recruitment & Retention
This presentation will discuss the best practices in recruitment strategies and retention practices that will help to boost the talent profile of your company. We will discuss the role that AI will play in enhancing recruitment efforts. We will also discuss the role of organizational culture and employee experiences in creating strong organizational commitment and boosting retention.
The learning objectives are as follows:
1) Understand and discuss best practices in the planning, implementation, and review stages of the recruitment process;
2) Understand the role and challenges of Artificial Intelligence (AI) during the recruitment phase;
3) Understand the reasons employees quit;
4) Understand the role of organizational culture in creating strong organizational commitment;
5) Understand the importance of the employee experiences as a way of boosting retention.
